Day 35: Things are Looking Up (251 lbs)

I started the morning with Yoga X at 8:00am. My son, Maxwell, even joined me but had to spoil it by showing me how much better he is at yoga than I'll ever be. I kept the fans running during this workout for the first time and it was 10 times easier. I'm thinking I might do this from now on so I get a better workout. When I leave the fans off and make it real hot, I might not be working out harder. Perhaps I am just wearing out faster. I'll ask some of my yoga friends and get their opinion.

After the workout, I was very happy to tip the scales at 251 pounds. I asked my neurologist to prescribe a diuretic earlier this week to offset the water retention caused by the Prednisone he has me on. The diuretic is obviously working, because I weighed 260 pounds just this last Wednesday. I feel much better also and am motivated to eat even tighter. This week I'm going to try and keep my daily carb count under 100 grams.

The big surprise of the day was the hand stand I'm doing in the photo. To be totally honest, my son, Maxwell, and my buddy, Adrian, are standing to the sides ready to pounce if I show signs of collapsing. They also helped me get into position. Also, I'm using the wall to balance myself. However, this is the first time in my life that I've ever been able to do this and I have tried before. For a 6'5", 251 pound, 47 year old man who had a triple bypass six months ago, I think it's damn good.
