Day 16: I Believe (255 lbs)

After my triple bypass on April 17th earlier this year, I was physically obliterated. I couldn't walk up my stairs without taking a break or two. I couldn't open a pill bottle on my own. I couldn't sit up without one of my sons helping me. I couldn't cough or sneeze without screaming. Actually, I couldn't even scream. It was more like a bleat.

Today, less than 6 months later, I was able to finish the P90X Plyometrics workout without hitting the pause button once. This workout is 60 grueling minutes of jumping, squatting, leaping, twisting, huffing, puffing and some mild cursing. OK, not so mild. My heart rate topped 160 bpm and the sweat was pouring. Shortly after my surgery, my cardiologist said I would feel euphorically better within a few months because I'd been going a year or more with half a heart. To be honest, I thought the doc was full of it. After today's workout, I finally believe him.
