I woke up early this morning and did my workout at Karen's while she left to attend her daughter's horseback riding lesson. People that know me can tell by the photo I'm not at home because Karen actually hangs artwork on her walls. My place, although nice, has often been described with such adjectives like barren, sterile, bacheloresque, spartan or boring.
The workout was wonderful. Although, I'm still exercising technically, it's nice to take a day off from the jumping, lunging, lifting, pulling and punching. The stretching is such a great way to start the day.
As my flexibility improves, I am noticing less back pain. I spent the weekend doing some heavy duty yard work around Karen's. In the old days, I would have been extremely sore and stiff afterward. Now, I only feel slightly tired. My flexibility workouts are definitely improving my quality of life more than anything else I do. After 70 hard days of exercise, it's nice to finally start yielding some results.
You could say, I'm finally getting into the groove.
